In a nutshell:

My name is Michael (aka Johno, Mike, Big Mike, Ronnie, Ron-a-tron (and mayebe a few other nicknames not to be published here) and I love bread, have loved bread and will always love bread.

Slightly Longer Version:

Bread has always been a staple of my diet and has long been the foundation for most breakfasts, lunches and dinners I have eaten.

When I was younger I dreamed of opening a sandwich shop, inspired by frequent trips to our local sandwich shop whether for a BLT, Coronation Chicken, NY Pastrami Melt or a simple Cheese & Pickle, it was my happy place.

My wife and I love travelling, and it was on a recent trip to Reykjavik that we discovered a bakery in which I would have been more than happy to have stayed in all day.

This, paired with the influence of a growing movement away from mass, ultra-processed foods gave me the motivation to scratch an itch which had been niggling at me for many years.

After having worked the majority of my working life in hospitality it was now time for me to embark on a new venture of my own.

I quit my job (gulp) and enrolled on a 6 month long Advanced Diploma in Artisan Bread Making at The School Of Artisan Food. I then focused on honing my skills with various stints at other bakeries and shortly after that, I started baking and delivering to neighbours, friends and family (shout out to Fletchergate Industries for their love and support on this one!).

I now hope to reach a wider audience with a view to one day having my own bakery, serving you lovely people fabulous baked goods centered around happiness, honesty and well being (like in Reykjavik, but warmer and not so expensive!).
